The Texas Department of Public Safety consists of State Troopers, Texas Rangers, Emergency Management and Drivers License. There are approximately 9,000 internal and hundreds of thousands of external users of their systems.

Contracted to design, build and administer a portal environment consisting of multiple server farms hosting intranet and extranet portals serving more than 100,000 users. Designed a SharePoint Server 2010 farm with a publishing portal for intranet content, MySites and team sites for collaboration with search enabled across all sites. Produced the proof-of-concept environment. The production roll-out project kicks off in January 2011.

DPS recently purchased the WebCenter, SOA and Security stacks from Oracle. I am on the team charged with implementing this new enterprise architecture - standing up a four-tier environment consisting of roughly 50 Linux servers.


Locke Lord Bissell & Liddell

Locke Lord Bissell & Liddell LLP is an Am Law 100, national law firm comprised of approximately 700 attorneys with 12 offices. Locke Lord was formed in 2007, after the combination of Texas-based Locke Liddell & Sapp and Lord, Bissell & Brook, a national firm headquartered in Chicago.

Responsible for everything related to the LLBL intranet and extranet sites. Tasked with developing requirements, designing and migrating from the existing intranet sites in Dallas and Windows SharePoint Services 2.0 site in Chicago to a new consolidated SharePoint Server 2007 based intranet. Created and rolled out multiple SharePoint based applications which used custom workflows to handled items ranging from Help Desk Tickets to IT Change Control. Responsible for the administration of 300+ legacy extranet sites that share a common Cold Fusion database. Designed and implemented a new extranet solution for sites moving forward. This platform utilizes MOSS 2007, Active Directory, SSL, Active Directory Application Mode (ADAM) and forms based authentication to allow internal and external users to collaborate seamlessly.

Recruited to design, build and administer VHA’s portal environment consisting of multiple server farms hosting internet, extranet and intranet portals serving more than 50,000 users. Upgraded the internet environment from Plumtree 5.03 to Aqualogic 6.1. Implemented a new SharePoint Server 2007 based Clinical extranet application. Mapped out the conversion path for the intranet from Plumtree to MOSS 2007. Worked with Windows Integrated Authentication as well as forms-based authentication using two domains.

Recruited to design, build, secure and maintain Burlington Resources’ global web environment. Started with an environment consisting of three web servers. Ended with responsibility for 17 web and application servers. As team lead for the E-Business side of the E-Business and Enterprise Business Applications team, managed the day-to-day operations of the Burlington Resources global internet, intranet and extranet systems. Duties included configuring and maintaining Windows based web servers, portal servers, content management systems, streaming media services and security. Provided senior-level technical, design and other assistance on the creation of other company web services. Assisted with the development of design and operational standards and procedures. Oversaw the development of applications, maintained workflow, and ensured the timely completion of various projects. Assisted with the planning and implementation of sophisticated knowledge management, collaboration and user identity initiatives and worked with others to optimize the company's web services for speed, uniformity, usability, and compatibility.
